Melbourne, Fla, October
16, 2004 - Summation Research, Inc., a provider of
advanced equipment for data communications, wireless,
supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA),
satellite and terrestrial telemetry, and test equipment
markets, today announced the extension of a multi-year
agreement to supply VHF and UHF data compatible radios
to GE Transportation Systems for their “Locotrol”
locomotive control systems. This extension continues
the successful relationship established in 2000 and
includes data radios deployed for rail systems worldwide.
The radios are designed for applications requiring
extremely ruggedized packaging to provide transmission
of data in licensed VHF and UHF frequency bands. The
units feature high power transmit capability for applications
requiring extended operating ranges and high reliability.
The radio is available for both domestic and most
international uses.
Having already supplied in excess of 5000 units to
GE, the contract extension incorporates a next generation
design of the radios, thus assuring product continuity
through the end of the decade. “Summation Research
is proud to prolong our vendor relationship with GE
Transportation Systems”, said Tom Drago, Vice
President of Business Operations at Summation Research.
“This extension allows us to upgrade the designs
to insure the continuation of what has proven to date
to be a mutually beneficial, long standing business
relationship.”
